5 Locations, 1,342 Reviews, and a Review Tool Working Against Them

Valentin Pashnyak

Appliance EMT was already winning in September 2024. Valentin Pashnyak and his team ran five locations across the country, with their headquarters in the Atlanta metro area. They completed hundreds of jobs each month and had a strong reputation in the appliance repair space.

But Google told a different story.

Their Buford HQ had 1,342 Google reviews at 4.7 stars. Good. Not great. Competitors in the same markets had more reviews, more visibility, and were getting calls Appliance EMT never knew about.

The real problem ran deeper.

Appliance EMT used BirdEye for review management. Over 900 customer reviews sat trapped inside BirdEye's system. They never posted to Google. Customers left great reviews. Those reviews lived in a walled garden. They did nothing for Google rankings. Nothing for visibility. Nothing for new customer calls.

Nine hundred reviews. Invisible.

Then Appliance EMT canceled BirdEye. The reviews didn't come back. BirdEye deleted them. All of them.

A vendor they paid every month had collected their customers' goodwill and held it hostage. When the relationship ended, they torched it.

Beyond the review problem, operations were stretched. Calls got missed during busy hours. Follow-up on estimates was hit or miss. Valentin spent too much time in the day-to-day. He answered calls between jobs. He tracked leads by hand. He ran a growing business without systems to match.

Something had to change.

Day One: Review Pages Linked. AI Activated.

Appliance EMT started with YAI in late September 2024. The plan was simple. Fix the Google review problem first. Then build systems to catch every lead and follow up on autopilot.

Setup was fast.

Day one, every technician had QR codes to hand customers after each job. One scan. One tap. Review posted to Google. No app download. No account creation. The customer finishes in under 30 seconds.

That same day, YAI's AI review response system went live. Every new Google review got a professional, personalized response within minutes. Five-star reviews got a warm thank-you that mentioned specific details from the customer's experience. Critical reviews got a thoughtful reply that showed future customers the business cares.

These AI responses do more than look good. Google's algorithm rewards businesses that actively engage with their reviews. Each response signals to Google that Appliance EMT is responsive, active, and invested in their community. That engagement pushes them higher in search results and Maps rankings. More visibility. More calls.

New Google reviews started flowing in within the first week.

The AI Employee Customers Think Is Human

Joey is Appliance EMT's AI employee. YAI built Joey on their platform, trained him on Appliance EMT's business, and put him on the front line of every customer interaction after a service call.

After every job, Joey sends a follow-up message to the customer. Joey listens for one of three signals.

"The job is done. The customer is happy."

Joey thanks them. Asks for a Google review. Sends the direct link. This is where most of Appliance EMT's 2,237+ new reviews came from. Automated. Consistent. After every job. No human involvement required.

"The job isn't finished."

Joey finds out what's wrong. Connects the customer to dispatch to schedule a return visit. No one falls through the cracks. No customer has to call back and re-explain the situation.

"The job is done. The customer isn't happy."

Joey does not ask for a review. Joey listens. Gathers details about what went wrong. Sends the feedback to management. Creates a task for personal follow-up from a real person. The business gets a chance to fix the problem before a negative review hits Google.

She thought Joey was a technician. She had no idea she talked to AI.

Charlene, one of thousands of customers generated by YAI, left a five-star review after her washing machine repair. She wrote that "Joey was very kind and explained in detail what was wrong with our machine." She praised Joey for getting parts and coming back to fix everything the same day.

Charlene Williams' five-star review mentioning Joey

Today Joey handles thousands of conversations each month across all 13 locations. Every satisfied customer gets asked for a review. Every unsatisfied customer gets personal attention. Every open job gets followed up.

Behind the Numbers

Appliance EMT team with a cat

Appliance EMT isn't a faceless corporation. It's a team of technicians who show up to people's homes, fix their appliances, and sometimes make a new friend.

They take a group photo and everyone looks happy to be there. The owner texts his team a heart react when a customer praises their AI employee.

Valentin Pashnyak

Valentin and his wife built Appliance EMT from scratch. YAI didn't replace the human side of their business. It amplified it. The techs still do great work. The customers still get personal attention. Joey makes sure none of it goes unnoticed on Google.
